Destination DC Announces New Executive and Senior Staff

Washington, DC – Destination DC (DDC), the official destination marketing organization for Washington, DC, today announced new appointments to its leadership team.

 

“As we think about continued tourism recovery and our strategy for 2023 and beyond, we’re investing in our staff to remain aggressive and focused on the ROI of increased visitation to impact Washington, DC’s local economy, said Elliott L. Ferguson, II, president and CEO, Destination DC. “Our expanded and talented senior staff is the best in the business. They’ll help me lead our growing team and strategy across all departments, ultimately benefiting the community.”

 

Danielle Davis, Vice President, Communications
Danielle has been promoted to vice president of communications for Destination DC. She joined the organization in 2015 as director of communications. Danielle leads the communications department in executing organization-wide messaging and strategy, crisis communications and editorial coverage. She expands her communications footprint by providing presentation training, refining messaging and collaborating on annual campaigns and industry events. She also joins DDC’s executive team.

 

“Messaging is at the center of our organization and Danielle leads that for us at every level,” said Robin A. McClain, senior vice president, marketing and communications. “She ensures that our stakeholders, media and customers understand what we do and why it matters.”

 

Calvin Morgan Director, Information Technology & Business Intelligence
A 25-year veteran of DDC, Calvin manages all the organization’s IT needs and technical training. Along with auditing current and new technological developments, Calvin is tasked with enhancing DDC’s usage of CRM, software and training as well as building future IT systems. He keeps DDC at the forefront of technological trends and advancements.

 

Torri Christian, Director, Marketing
As the longest serving member of DDC’s marketing and communications team, Torri has held nearly every position from assistant to manager to associate director. Torri manages DDC’s $5M advertising budget in FY23 through DDC’s agency of record, MMGY Global. She is responsible for advertising strategy and research. Additionally, she will manage a new paid social media strategy that will complement the impact of DDC’s advertising.

 

Andrew O’Connor, Director, Content Marketing
Andrew enters his tenth year at DDC with a focus on content marketing and leveraging new technology, market shifts and changing trends. Managing DDC’s content strategy, Andrew leads the team responsible for inspiring travel through washington.org, social media, email marketing and publications. His strategy personalizes content for different consumer audiences and connects with their reasons for traveling to Washington, DC.

 

Terri Carter, Director, People & Culture
Terri has been leading DDC’s Human Resources department since she joined the organization in 2016. She was instrumental in converting the payroll system from ADP to Paycom in 2018 and manages both onboarding and deboarding processes for current and former DDC employees. As Director, People & Culture, Terri will expand her team with the position of Talent Acquisition Manager to focus on recruitment, onboarding, talent development and DEI in the workplace.
